Taking Action! Youth Story

The Taking Action! Project is a national endeavour involving six Aboriginal communities across Canada. This document was developed for the youth who attended retreats in these communities where the focus was on HIV and AIDS prevention. Aboriginal youth at these retreats used traditional art forms and new media to create dialog about these issues. Taking Action! Youth Story documents the project from the youths’ perspective in the different Aboriginal communities and serves as a keepsake to remember the project.

Taking Action! Youth Story was launched at the National Aboriginal AIDS Awareness Week in Ottawa on December 1, 2011.

iBroadcast.TV is a social video website for creating and watching personal video channels. As iBroadcast.TV launched in November 2011, a teaser was needed to intrigue and excite potential users for the website. The many videos used in the teaser draw upon the content that the users can potentially stream through their own channels. They are a mélange of old and new, intersecting between educational and entertaining, (in)famous and the yet to be discovered. As the videos blend into the SMPTE colour bars, they reinforce that iBroadcast is essentially a social alternative to the traditional boob tube.

Sunday Night Dinner

Sunday Night Dinner is a short film which centers around a conservative middle class family, who are faced with the burden and tragedy of an elderly family member’s descent into dementia in the late 1950s, St. Catharines, ON.

This title sequence reflects the hopes and dreams of family based on what they have come to know from their past and present. Everything seems like it’s all in place on the surface, but there is a lot more to what meets the eye upon a first impression.

This film is screening at the 2011 Los Angeles Women’s Film Festival on March 29th.

Biblical Proportions (opening sequence)

Biblical Proportions is a Christian reality TV show that challenges its participants to try to overcome challenges they may have faced in biblical times. Complete with reenactments and born again interviews, this half hour program takes you on a physical and spiritual journey unparalleled in the television universe.

This opening sequence was developed for the pilot of Biblical Proportions. Given the subject matter, the sequence needed to be epic and bold in order to draw the attention of the audience.

A Tangible Reverie

This title sequence was developed for a fictional film called A Tangible Reverie. It is about a man who reminisces his encounter with a woman he meets and travels with over a short period of time. The imagery in this opening sequence alludes to the sights and sounds he remembers that made his journey so momentous and unforgettable.

Kiehl’s

Kiehl’s is a premium cosmetics retailer, founded in New York City. They offer a wide range of pharmaceutical, herbal, medicinal, and skincare products and have many stores open around the world. This sting was designed for a sizzle reel which documented the opening of the Kiehl’s location in Toronto’s Yorkdale Mall. At the same time, Kiehl’s had launched a limited edition collection of products in time for Earth Day to support the Rainforest Alliance. For this reason, the sting was designed with a rainforest theme that embraced a creative artist flair, as the limited edition products had their various labels illustrated by different celebrities.
